The committee recommended suspending closure decisions for shops, malls, restaurants, cafés, clubs, and sports facilities during the Coptic Easter week, with the proposal to be presented to the Cabinet tomorrow.
The meeting reviewed Egypt’s diplomatic efforts led by President Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi to de‑escalate tensions in the Middle East and prevent instability. Officials discussed global economic impacts, including rising energy prices and supply chain disruptions, and outlined government measures to mitigate these effects.
The committee examined efforts to secure essential goods and petroleum supplies, maintain sufficient reserves, and ensure availability to citizens at fair prices. It also reviewed steps to rationalize energy use and safeguard raw materials critical for industries such as pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
A detailed report on commodity prices and market activity nationwide was presented, confirming enforcement of measures to stabilize supply. On this occasion, the Prime Minister and ministers extended greetings to Pope Tawadros II and all Coptic citizens in Egypt and abroad.
