Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil asserted Egypt’s dedication to empowering young people and expanding their role in national development.

The assertion to this effect was made during a meeting late on Wednesday with a delegation from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The minister received Amr Soliman, head of the Egypt team at the OECD MENA Governance Programme, along with Mai Hosni, OECD Senior Youth Governance Expert, to explore ways of strengthening collaboration in youth initiatives.

“Egypt values its partnership with the OECD and aims to leverage its international expertise to shape effective youth policies,” Minister Nabil said, emphasising the alignment of these efforts with Egypt Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The discussions focused on enhancing co-operation to support youth empowerment, boost young people’s participation in development programmes, and expand opportunities across various sectors.

The OECD delegation reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining support for the ministry, ensuring the continued growth and development of youth-focused initiatives in Egypt.

The collaboration forms part of the project themed “Strengthening Citizen-Centric Governance in Egypt,” implemented with support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation.
