Egyptian Commander in Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdel Meguid Saqr presided over the discussion of a major research project conducted by the Military Academy of Higher Studies and Strategic Studies, titled “A Proposed Strategy to Develop Societal Awareness in Light of Challenges and Threats Facing Egyptian National Security.”
The project was implemented by the National Defense College and attended by Chief of Staff Lt. General Ahmed Khalifa and other senior military leaders, government ministers, university presidents, media figures and public personalities.
Director of the Military Academy Major General Atef Abdel Raouf Mahmoud expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces’ leadership for their support in elevating the academy’s scientific and research standards.
He highlighted that the study comes amid accelerating regional challenges that could threaten Egypt’s national security.The research, prepared by a team of strategic experts and scholars at the National Defense College, concluded with a set of recommendations and mechanisms, addressing key questions regarding societal awareness and its role in national security.Several ministers, including those responsible for youth and sports, higher education and scientific research, Awqaf, and both general and technical education, as well as the head of the National Media Authority, contributed to the discussion.
They offered insights aimed at raising public awareness as a vital safeguard against threats to Egypt’s national security, emphasizing that informed and vigilant citizens constitute a crucial line of defense.At the conclusion of the session, General Saqr conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the attendees.
He praised the participants for their contributions to the intellectual depth of the discussion, stressing the importance of research that informs multidimensional strategies for advancing national thinking. The General also commended the academy’s role in preparing both military and civilian students to competently fulfill their assigned duties, underscoring the institution’s contribution to strengthening the foundations of Egypt’s national security.
