Senior commanders of the Egyptian Armed Forces held a series of bilateral meetings yesterday with military leaders and representatives of defence companies participating in the fourth edition of the International Defence Exhibition (EDEX 2025).
The move came as part of efforts to strengthen military co-operation with friendly nations.
Commander of the Egyptian NavyRear Admiral Mahmoud Adel Fawzi met with Rear Admiral RecepErdinçTekin, Commander of the Istanbul Naval Shipyard; Major General Marco Tomassetti, Chair of the Italian National Olympic Committee; Admiral Javier Romero, Director of Government Relations and Senior Advisor to the Chairman of Navantia; and James Benson-Hedges, President & CEO, Thales International, Pascale Sourisse.

Egypt’s Air Force Commander, Air Marshal Amr Abdel Rahman Saqr, held a series of talks with Nasser Humaid Al-Nuaimi, Secretary General of UAE Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement, Franklin Alex, Deputy Head of Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Co-operation; Major-General Yang Jie, Deputy Director of the Technology and Armament Co-operation Department of China’s Weapons and Equipment Development Authority; in addition to senior representatives of Lockheed Martin Corporation; and executives from Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Co-operation (CAITEC).
Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Toudi, Air Defence Forces commander, also held meetings with Yang Zhigang, Vice Chairman of China’s State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry; Commander of the Cyprus Air Command, Brigadier General Georgios Alexandrou; Colonel Mohamed Hersey Omar, Commander of the Djiboutian Artillery (Air Defence); James Benson-Hedges, CEO of Lockheed Martin; ÉricBéranger, Chief Executive Officer of MBDA; Sheng Hong, Vice Chairman of Norinco Group; and Pascale Sourisse, Chair of Thales Group.

These discussions focused on exchanging perspectives on the significant advancements in armament and defence systems showcased by participating countries, as well as exploring avenues to enhance military co-operation across various fields in a manner that bolsters the capabilities and operational readiness of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
