The government is set to introduce a new package of tax relief measures at the start of the upcoming fiscal year on July 1, in a move aimed at alleviating the financial burden on investors and reinforcing trust within the business community, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk has announced.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday, Kouchouk emphasised the government’s commitment to broadening the tax base in order to create greater fiscal space for incentive-driven policies and economic development.

He noted that the ministry is working to streamline tax procedures and reduce both tax-related and non-tax obligations for businesses and individuals alike.

A key factor of the ministry’s agenda, he added, is a comprehensive programme to consolidate revenue-collecting entities and lessen non-tax burdens, while enhancing efficiency and transparency across the taxation system.

The minister pointed to the initial phase of tax relief measures, which he said successfully attracted a notable number of new taxpayers and produced positive early results. A detailed update on the programme’s performance will be shared during a press conference later this month.

Kouchouk also highlighted the strong collaboration between the business sector and the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), which has helped drive a 38 per cent increase in tax revenues over the past ten months—without imposing any new financial burdens on taxpayers. This outcome, he said, underscores the government’s partnership-based approach to tax reform and economic management.
