CAIRO – Egyptian Ambassador to Denmark Karim Sherif discussed with director of the Danish Institute for Human Rights Louise Holck regional developments, especially the war on Gaza, the situation in Sudan as well as Egypt’s humanitarian efforts.
The diplomat welcomed national efforts to enhance and protect human rights, shedding light on efforts to improve the general atmosphere of rights and freedoms, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates.
The Danish official welcomed Egyptian efforts to protect human rights, saying her country is well aware of challenges facing the
Egyptian government in light of the current turbulent regional and international changes.
She termed as distinguished relations between the institute and the Egyptian Council for Human Rights, saying she is looking forward to more cooperation with Egypt within the coming period.
She lauded Egypt’s efforts to host more than 9 million foreign refugees on its territories, saying she is hoping to enhance cooperation with the Egyptian side in this regard within the framework of the comprehensive partnership agreement between Egypt and the EU.
