Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir and the Chairman of the Egyptian-Belarusian Committee stated that Egypt has made significant efforts to improve the investment climate, offer incentive packages, and enhance the state’s infrastructure, in addition to implementing numerous legislative reforms to promote investment.

The minister, speaking at the Egyptian-Belarusian Business Forum attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and his Belarusian counterpart Roman Golovchenko on Tuesday, clarified that the government has also established the Supreme Investment Council, chaired by the President, in addition to launching the State Ownership Document.

He noted that Egypt’s monetary policy stability allows for profit repatriation abroad, ensured by Egyptian legislation, and mentioned the government’s launch of the “golden license” to facilitate project licensing.

The Minister of Industry emphasized the broader potential for cooperation between the two countries, noting that enhancing relations requires a solid foundation of exchange between them.

He stressed that the opportunity for cooperation is ripe given the strong political ties between the two countries, urging industrialists and traders from both nations to intensify collaboration in the coming period and embark on a new era.

On his part, Ahmed Wakil, the President of the Chambers of Commerce, emphasized the importance of Belarus benefiting from Egypt’s strategic location and establishing logistical hubs in Egypt, especially in the Suez Canal area.

Wakil, during the forum, underscored the necessity of leveraging tourist exchanges between the two countries, along with the importance of establishing a direct air route between them.

He pointed out Egypt’s implementation of numerous reforms, executive measures, and economic and financial policies, affirming that Egypt is currently attracting more investments, all of which align with the economic and procedural reforms it has undertaken. Additionally, he highlighted the numerous promising opportunities in various fields where the Belarusian side can benefit.
