PORT SAID – Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli started on Saturday an extended inspection tour, including a number of developmental and service projects in Port Said and Damietta accompanied by Minister of Local Development Hisham Amna, Minister of Trade Ahmed Samir and Port Said Governor Adel el Ghadban.

Madbouli started his tour by inspecting Pyramids Tyres factory in the industrial zone of Port Said, which is the first factory of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East.

Madbouli asserted his full support to the expansions done in the factory as it contributes to providing local product in the markets and present a high-quality product that is capable of competing with global products so that Egypt would reach the targeted levels of its exports in addition to providing more job opportunities.

Madbouli listened to a detailed explanation on the factory from Board Chairman of the factory Ibrahim Gouda.

Gouda asserted that local product represents 70% of the tyre products and 100% of the solid tyre products.

The first factory was established in Egypt to get out the rubber crude from the used and expired tires and reuse it in all the products instead of importing it, Gouda said.

During his tour, Madbouli stood on the production and manufacturing stages of solid car tires.

On the measures taken to adapt with climate change, Gouda asserted that trees were planted around the company to maintain the cool temperature and work as reservoirs for taking in carbon and limiting greenhouse gas emissions.

Gouda said that the project contributed to providing 1500 job opportunities, adding that the number can increase to 5000 workers.

He said work seminars and environmental and industrial awareness courses are made continuously for the workers to clarify ways of handling the substances in all the manufacturing stages.
