Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli lauded on Thursday relations linking Egypt with Bahrain, referring to the strong relationship between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and King Hamad ben Issa al Khalifa.
Madbouli gave the remarks during a meeting with Bahraini Finance Minister Sheikh Salman ben Khalifa al Khalifa in the presence of Finance Minister Mohamed Maait.
Madbouli said he has been following up preparations for holding the first meeting of the Egyptian-Bahraini committee for trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation, expressing happiness over the memos of understanding and initiatives reached during the meeting.
He instructed putting into effect these memos as soon as possible.
He invited the Bahraini minister and his accompanying delegation to visit the New Administrative Capital to check on the major development projects being implemented there.
Madbouli talked about Egypt’s efforts to develop the Aluminum sector through setting up a major industrial complex in the Red Sea area, hoping the Bahraini side would benefit from this chance and go into a strong partnership with Egypt in this field.
The Bahraini minister expressed hope that partnerships would be fostered between Egypt and Bahrain in many fields, saying there are many promising opportunities in the Egyptian market in light of the overall development process launched by President Sisi.
He said trade exchange between Egypt and Bahrain does not level up to strong brotherly relations between the two countries, hoping it will be increased within the coming period to reach one billion dollars.
He said Bahraini investors have high confidence in the Egyptian market, citing Bahrain’s Mumtalakat company’s willingness to benefit from the promising opportunities available in the Egyptian market within the coming period.
