Egyptian Agriculture Minister El Sayyed El Quseir discussed with Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFC) Yerlan Baidaulet and his accompanying delegation fields of joint cooperation.
Baidaulet expressed his wish that Egypt hosts the IOFC general assembly meetings set to be held in September or October, 2022, saying that Egypt is a key member state.
He said the organization has organized 26 events in various agricultural activities for the Asian and African states.
He requested Egypt’s assistance in the fields of climate change and germplasm conservation in addition to all activities related to food security of the organization member states.
Quseir said the organization’s request to hold its general assembly meetings in Cairo will be considered by his ministry.
The ministry will also consider sending Egyptian experts to take part in preparing the organization’s programs and activities as well as outlining a draft memorandum of understanding between both sides to outline mechanisms of boosting joint cooperation, he added.
