Somali Ambassador to Egypt Ilyas Sheikh Omar lauded the Egyptian initiative of “Study in Egypt” which offers the opportunity to Somali students to study in the Egyptian universities in the different fields.
Omar lauded the Egypt’s efforts supporting the joint interests between both countries especially co-operation in the education and scientific fields and its pioneering role in the Arab world and Africa.
In a statement on Wednesday, Omar said that Egypt witnesses a leap in the field of higher education and scientific research at all the different levels.
Omar has participated in the activities of the first regional forum for open education in Arab countries that was held in Galala University under the auspices of Egyptian Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
He asserted the importance of the regional project of supporting the consultations in the field of open education in the Arab region.
He expressed happiness over holding such forums that reflect the keenness of Egypt in education and scientific research.
