AIN EL SOKHNA – Italian Ambassador to Egypt Michel Quaroni said Italy is Egypt’s first European trade partner and the most important gateway for Egyptian products to access European markets.
During the inauguration of the Quartz Production Complex in Suez’s Ain Sokhna, the diplomat expressed happiness over his participation in the opening ceremony, saying the project is implemented in partnership with Italy’s Breton company and this is a model example of industrial cooperation between Egypt and Italy.
The complex groups four factories established on an area of about 66 feddans.
He said the project with 800 million euro investments aims at increasing added value of Egyptian exports of raw material and providing high-quality quartz panel production.
He added that that the project is the first of its kind to manufacture quartz panels to secure needs of world market.
The diplomat said Italian companies’ presence in the Egyptian market is strong and successful as 1,200 companies are operating in the Egyptian market with total investments of 6 billion euros.
He reiterated his country’s determination to pump more investments in the Egyptian market in different domains.
