President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has invited Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to attend the second edition of the Technical and Vocational Education Forum (TechSkills 2027) as the guest of honour.
The forum is scheduled to take place in Egypt’s New Capital in April 2027.
The invitation was conveyed in a written message from President Sisi, delivered by Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdellatif during a meeting with the Singaporean president on Friday.
During the meeting, Abdellatif conveyed President Sisi’s greetings and handed over the letter, which reaffirmed the longstanding ties between Egypt and Singapore and their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral co-operation across a range of sectors.
The message underscored the importance of further expanding relations between the two countries, particularly as they commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, President Sisi also expressed his desire to welcome President Shanmugaratnam to Egypt in the near future. Such a visit would provide an opportunity to continue high-level consultations, explore new areas of co-operation and build on the progress achieved in bilateral relations.
Earlier on Friday, Abdellatif visited Singapore’s National Institute of Education (NIE) to review its experience in teacher preparation, professional development and educational research as part of Egypt’s efforts to enhance its education system.
