Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Muslims on Eid Al-Fitr, via a statement posted on the Kremlin website.
“This ancient holiday, which is important for every Muslim, marks the end of the blessed month of Ramadan, symbolizes commitment to humanistic ideals, piety and mercy, and brings believers closer to the origins of Islam, and to the lofty moral principles that underlie all the religions of the world,” Putin said.
