The OIC, according to MENA called to stop these repeated attacks immediately and engage in a serious process to achieve peace and stability in Yemen.
In light of the persistence of the Houthi militias in their aggressive actions that clearly threaten peace, security and stability in the region and the world, the OIC General Secretariat has also called on the US to seriously consider reclassifying these militias as a “terrorist group,” which was previously stipulated in UN Security Council Resolution No. 2624 dated February 28, 2022.
The OIC General Secretariat affirmed that as the US did not designate the Houthi militia as a terrorist group despite the widespread violations it perpetrated against civilian targets in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to those revealed in the report of Panel of Experts on Yemen established pursuant to Security Council Resolution No. 2140. This encourages the Houthi terrorist group to continue its hostile acts against civilians and civilian targets defying calls for dialogue.
The General Secretariat applauded the great efforts exerted by the Coalition countries, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Yemen as well as the great efforts exerted in delivering humanitarian aid to the needy, facilitating its transit and confronting Houthi threats to humanitarian corridors.
OIC’s General Secretariat affirmed its full support and solidarity with the leaderships, governments and peoples of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates regarding all the steps and measures they take to preserve their security and stability and the safety of their citizens and residents.
