Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid stressed the importance of co-operation with Saudi Arabia, the Iraqi news agency (INA) reported on Monday.
This came during his meeting with Saudi Ambassador to Iraq Abdulaziz Al Shammari.
During the meeting, the Iraqi president stressed the necessity of coordination with the Kingdom on issues of mutual interest, particularly related to realising security and stability and promoting peace to serve the peoples of the region.
For his part, the Saudi diplomat asserted the Kingdom’s keenness on shoring up co-operation with Iraq.
The two sides also reviewed means of consolidating bilateral relations, in addition to this year’s Hajj and the procedures and facilities provided to Iraqi pilgrims by Saudi Arabia.
