Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty had a telephone conversation on Sunday with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to evaluate rapid regional developments and co-ordinate diplomatic de-escalation measures.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Nader Zaki reported that the phone call centered on current efforts by regional and international stakeholders to establish a diplomatic framework capable of preventing further military escalation.
During the consultation, Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s explicit rejection and absolute condemnation of the recent attack on a Qatari gas transport company’s vessel in the Arabian Gulf.
He noted that such hostile actions undermine constructive dialogue and impede regional stability initiatives.
Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close diplomatic channels and joint oversight of ongoing efforts to defuse tensions and restore a viable political resolution process.
