CAIRO – Two Japanese staff officers completed their one-year mission in the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) Cairo office, a statement by the Japanese Embassy in Cairo said Tuesday.

Noke Masaki, the Japanese ambassador in Cairo, ambassador R. Stephen Beecroft, the MFO Director General, Bradley C. Lynch, the MFO Director General’s representative in Cairo, and Colonel Hossam El Sheikh, Chief of Peace Branch, Liaison Agency With International Organisations (LAWIO) of the Egyptian Armed Forces attended the farewell party at the MFO Cairo office on June 12.

Lynch, representative of MFO Cairo office and the host of the event, lauded the great contribution to MFO through building relationships and mutual understanding with the treaty partners, according to the statement.

Colonel Hossam from LAWIO highly appreciated the achievements of the Japanese officers as well, adding that they strengthened the relationship between LAWIO and MFO more than ever before.

Ambassador Beecroft, meanwhile, expressed appreciation to the Japanese government for dispatching two officials to MFO and referred to the importance of Japan’s continued participation in the MFO.

Ambassador Noke said he was proud of LTC Fukayama and MAJ Taketatsu and expressed appreciation to MFO and its cooperative parties that stood by the expectations and had a meaningful contribution to the success of peace and prosperity in the region, the statement added.
