The Bangladesh Embassy in Cairo organised a seminar on Bangladesh’s Economic and Investment Opportunities on July 28 at Ramses Hilton Hotel, in the presence of diplomatic envoys, CEOs and Bangladeshi businessmen.
Ambassador Mohamed Monirul Islam said Bangladesh was keen to establish strong economic relations with Egypt as the two countries have immense trade potentials.
The ambassador highlighted the recent progress in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh.
The chief guest at the seminar Dr Huda Galal Yassa, President of the Arab Women Investors Union, shed light on the empowerment of women in Bangladesh and called for increased co-operation between the two countries in this regard.
Ms. Marie Louis, President of the Apparel Export Council of Egypt, presented a comparative analysis of Bangladesh’s rising economic growth projection. She encouraged Egyptian investors to invest in Bangladesh to take advantage of the economic and investment potentials of Bangladesh.
British University’s Bangladeshi Professor Dr Sheikh Shamim Hasnain gave a PowerPoint presentation on the history, culture, recent economic progress and potentials of Bangladesh to give Egyptian businessmen an idea about the economic situation of Bangladesh.
The Senior Investment Promotion Officer of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Ms. Ayah Hussien expressed interest in working closely with Bangladesh in organising such events in the future.
