MANAMA – Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has received Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb at Sakhir Palace, south of Manama.
Al-Azhar imam and Pope Francis of the Vatican are currently on a visit to Bahrain to take part in the “Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence”.
The Bahraini monarch, Al-Azhar imam, and the Pope of the Vatican are due to plant a palm tree at the royal palace in order to draw the world’s attention to the climate change crisis and environmental issues.
The three figures will also deliver speeches at the conclusion of the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue.
Held on Thursday and Friday, the forum is organized under the auspices of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The event is attended by many eminent intellectual figures and representatives of religions from different countries.
