Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H.E. Amr Talaat inaugurated the expansion of global technology company SAP SE  in Egypt, to further accelerate the pace of digital transformation in the country’s public and private sectors in alignment with Digital Egypt Strategy, while delivering dedicated services and expertise across more than 25 industries.

‏SAP’s expanded presence through new offices also saw the attendance of senior officials and dignitaries including Frank Hartmann, the German ambassador to Egypt.

‏Welcoming distinguished guests to SAP’s new facility in the Business Park of Cairo Festival City were Luka Mucic, SAP Executive Board member and Global Chief Financial Officer; Sergio Maccotta, Senior Vice President, SAP Middle East South; and Mohamed Samy, Managing Director, SAP Egypt.  Their comments at the opening event underscored SAP’s alignment with Egypt Vision 2030 through continued investment to enable the country’s digital agenda in the public and private sectors, upskilling of local talent and how the RISE with SAP initiative transforms Egypt’s businesses to Intelligent Enterprises on a single platform with latest technology innovations hosted on a local cloud data centre.

‏“Investments and partnerships with global technology innovators such as SAP support our endeavours to produce a generation of competent technology leaders. Such calibers will lead the country’s digital transformation endeavours and contribute to building Digital Egypt”, said Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

‏SAP is also looking forward to increasing co-operation with the Egyptian Government, aligning with Egypt’s digital transformation goals, upskilling of local talent, and providing latest technology innovations. As a part of this co-operation, SAP is working towards a strategic framework agreement with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

‏Presentations during the event showcased how SAP Egypt supports the nation’s emerging young talent and the workforce of the future with digital skills enablement. The SAP University Alliances/Next Gen programme covers nine universities in Egypt, while the company’s Young Professionals Program has seen 340+ Egypt-based graduates since 2012 with a 95 per cent professional placement rate. The SAP Academy has also developed its next generation sales force, with eight Sales Academies and four Pre-sales Academies.

‏In addition to growing the workforce of the future, SAP Egypt is home to three strategic regional hubs, servicing customers across the MENA region. The Services & Support Centre of Excellence (CoE) supporting customers digital transformation, the Digital Hub with a focus on mid-market customers and a Lead Generation Hub for best-in-class lead management and campaign execution.

‏SAP also announced that it is working with one of its global partners to establish a private Cloud Data Centre in Egypt. Additionally, SAP is currently in the process of reviewing a data center for the purpose of certifying it to host SAP Private Cloud solutions (RISE with SAP). This investment underscores the market demand and Egypt’s government vision to accelerate their digital transformation in the cloud, enabled by latest technology and a rapid shift in business.

‏“Over the decades, SAP has drawn on global industry expertise and latest innovations to support our Egyptian customers of all sizes with targeted solutions to meet their ambitions and help address their challenges.” said Mohammed Samy, Managing Director, SAP Egypt.  “The growing adoption of cloud solutions and the dynamism of Egypt’s continued digital transformation encourages SAP’s entire team, along with our partners, to support and develop the next generation of leading organizations and professionals in this country.”
