Autodesk, international company of engineering software industry and the production of 3D design programmes and interior designs through its strategic partner Kemet, participated in the Third International Conference on Sustainable Construction and Project Management with a main aim of holding co-operation protocols with government agencies to push the digital transformation process for institutions and companies within the market forward.

Organised by the Housing and Building National Research Centre during the period from June 20 to 22, 2021, the conference saw the convening of a number of important events, including the opening of Egypt’s permanent exhibition for green building.

The conference, themed ‘Integrated Smart Cities’, was held under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouli and Housing Minister Assem El-Gazzar, with the participation of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Environment. Governor of Giza attended the conference.

Autodesk also participated in one of the conference sessions under the title “The Role of BIM in Smart Cities” in the presence of its representatives, Engineer Hazem Nabil, Country Manager of Autodesk Egypt & Libya , Engineer Ali Madkour, CEO of Kemet, and Eng. Omar Madkour, Director of Business Development at Kemet and engineer Mohammed Al Yamani, Technical Director of Kemet Company.

For his part, Eng Hazem Nabil confirmed that our participation in the conference comes within the framework of an expanded strategy implemented by the company to sign co-operation protocols with government agencies to push the digital transformation process forward.

This joint co-operation, he said, comes as a strategic support for Egypt’s Vision 2030, as the state is currently working on forging development practices for smart cities with the aim of “transforming all cities into smart cities, which is consistent with the software provided by “Autodesk”, which leads to saving between 5-10% of the total cost of projects.

Engineer Ali Madkour, CEO of Kemet, said: “We provide an integrated set of information and communication technology solutions for smart cities, and that there is no doubt this co-operation between us and the National Housing Resource Centre and the Consulting Engineers Group will contribute effectively to providing experiences and practices for smart city solutions in Egypt”.
