BERLIN – Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, describing him as the greatest player he has coached during his managerial career, MENA reported.
Speaking to the media following reports linking Salah with a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor on a free transfer, Klopp said he had always emphasised during his time at Liverpool the importance of building a legacy that remains in people’s memories long after a player’s career comes to an end.
He added that the team’s achievements would continue to be remembered regardless of how much time passes.
Klopp said he had congratulated Salah on the beginning of a new chapter in his football career, noting that a potential move to Trabzonspor was unexpected but reflected the unpredictable nature of football.
The former Liverpool manager described the Egypt captain as “the greatest player I have ever coached,” praising his exceptional pace, outstanding goalscoring ability, and technical skills, which made watching him play a pleasure.
Klopp stressed that Salah was one of the key reasons behind Liverpool’s success in recent years, adding that the memorable moments he created in the club’s shirt would remain etched in fans’ memories and would be difficult to forget.
