The FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 continued to captivate audiences with a day of breathtaking football, marked by two dramatic draws that showcased the fiercely competitive spirit of the region’s best teams.

The action saw Syria secure a stunning late equaliser against the esteemed host nation, Qatar, while Palestine clinched a hard-fought point in a compelling battle with Tunisia.

In a major test for the host nation, the encounter between Qatar and Syria delivered nail-biting drama right up to the final whistle. The match, held at the magnificent Khalifa International Stadium, showcased the high stakes of the tournament.

After a hard-fought opening, Qatar appeared to have secured a much-needed victory in the 77th minute.

Ahmed Al Aaedin rose expertly to meet Edmilson Junior’s cross, guiding the ball into the net and sending a wave of relief through the capacity crowd.

However, Syria, demonstrating their tenacity and quality in this regional showpiece, had the final word.

In the 90th minute, star forward Omar Khribin unleashed a powerful, long-distance strike that flew into the top corner, leaving the home fans stunned.

The highly dramatic 1-1 draw not only secured a crucial point for Jose Lana’s side but also put the host nation’s progression hopes into a delicate balance.

The result maintains the intense pressure and high expectations surrounding the Qatar campaign.

Palestine 2-2 Tunisia

Earlier in the day, Palestine staged a remarkable comeback against Tunisia, securing a vital 2-2 draw and remaining firmly on course for a place in the knockout stages for the first time.

Tunisia, the 2021 runners-up, entered the match needing a strong response and took a two-goal lead through Amor Layouni (16′) and Firas Chaouat (51′).

Yet, Palestine refused to yield. Hamed Hamdan reduced the deficit just after the hour mark with a rasping volley from the edge of the box. The decisive moment came late on when Player of the Match Zaid Qunbar sealed the thrilling point, lashing the ball home in the 85th minute.

This late resurgence places Palestine level at the top of Group A with Syria, setting the stage for a compelling final round of group fixtures.

The exhilarating performances underscore the commitment of all participating nations to deliver a memorable FIFA Arab Cup as the tournament progresses.
