ABU DHABI – Egypt’s giants Ahly won the bronze medal in the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup for the second successive year after crushing the Saudi Al Hilal 4-0 in the third-place playoff Saturday.
Yasser Ibrahim gave Ahly the lead just eight minutes after the kick-off before a red card was shown to Al Hilal’s Matheus Pereira in the 14th minute to open the door for the wide win.
Just three minutes later, Ibrahim made it 2-0, then a second red card to Al Hilal’s Mohammed Kanoo was enough to allow Ahly to totally dominate the match.
Ahmed Abdel-Kader made it 3-0 in the 40th minute before Amr Al-Sulaya scored the fourth in the second half.
