Cairo powerhouses Zamalek, Pyramids FC and Al-Ahly claimed victories in their matches in the 27th matchday of the 2021-22 Egyptian Premier League season.

At Al-Salam Stadium, Zamalek claimed a valuable triumph after stunning Future FC 1-0.

Defender Mahmoud Hamdi el-Wensh grabbed the winner in the 74th minute.

The win cemented Zamalek on top of the domestic League table with 63 points from 27 matches, nine points clear of rivals Ahly, who has played two games less.

Future FC remained at 4th place in the 18-team table on 42 points from 27 matches.

Elsewhere, Pyramids FC claimed a valuable triumph after stunning NBE Club 1-0 at Cairo’s Air Defence Stadium.

Left-winger Ramadan Sobhi scored his side’s sole goal in the 72nd minute.

Pyramids FC remained at second place with 59 points from 27 games as NBE Club dropped into seventh place with 37 points from 27 matches.

At Cairo’s Military Academy Stadium, Al-Ahly grabbed an easy 1-0 win over bottom side Misr el-Maqassa.

The Red Devils sole goal came from Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng in the 23rd minute.

Al-Ahly is now third in the domestic table with 54 points from 25 matches as Misr el-Maqassa remained at 18th place with 15 points from 27 matches.

“The victory came in a very important time, as we currently have to play a lot of games in a short amount of period,” Al-Ahly Portuguese coach Ricardo Soares said after the game.

“We have to be realistic; we have a lot of games to play and multiple injuries which puts additional pressure on us.”

“Therefore, it was important to win in order to be confident ahead of our upcoming games.”

“I made several substations in order to make sure that we don’t have any additional injuries,” Soares noted according to the club official website.

Ahly will face Arab Contractors in a rescheduled game on Saturday.

At Alexandria Stadium, Smouha was held to a 1-1 draw against Arab Contractors.

Nigerian winger Sodiq Awujoola scored for Arab Contractors in the 32nd minute as Burkinabe Farouck Kabore scored the equaliser for Smouha in the 35th minute.

The draw kept Smouha into 5th place with 40 points from 27 matches as Arab Contractors dropped into 16th place with 24 points from 26 matches.

Elsewhere, Ismaili defeated El-Gouna 3-0 at El-Gouna Stadium.

Defender Baher el-Mohamady opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 51st minute as left-winger Ahmed Moustafa scored twice in the 55th and 64th minutes respectively.

The victory pushed Ismaili to 13th place with 29 points from 26 matches as El-Gouna dropped into 15th place with 26 points from 27 matches.

At Alexandria Stadium, Talae el-Geish stunned Pharco FC 1-0 thanks to goal from midfielder Amr el-Sisi in the 22nd minute.

The result pushed Talae el-Geish to 5th place with 41 points from 27 matches as Pharco FC stayed in 8th place with 35 points from 27 matches.
