Egyptian PL: Contractors, Smouha win as El-Entag, Aswan suffer relegation

Arab Contractors and Smouha claimed victories in the 32nd week of the Egyptian Premier League as El-Entag el-Harby and National Bank of Egypt (NBE) held to draw.

At Arab Contractors Stadium, Arab Contractors stunned Misr el-Maqassa 3-2 Saturday night.

Arab Contractors’ goals came from right-back player Amir Abed in the 31st minutes as right winger Ahmed Dawooda scored twice in the 49th and 69th minutes.

The victory pushed Arab Contractors to 10th place with 38 points from 32 matches as Misr el-Maqassa remained at 12th place with 37 points from 32 matches.

At Alexandria Stadium, Smouha defeated El-Gouna 3-1 Saturday night.

Smouha’s goals came through centre-back player Mohamed Nadi in the 9th minutes as right winger Moustafa Fathi scored twice in the 23rd and 63rd minutes.

Centre-forward player Karim el-Tayeb scored El-Gouna’s sole goal in the 45th minutes.

The result pushed Smouha to 3rd place with 50 points from 32 matches as El-Gouna remained at 11th place with 37 points from 32 matches.

Elsewhere, El-Entag el-Harby held to a 1-1 draw against Al-Ittihad of Alexandria.

El-Entag el-Harby’s goal came from attacking midfielder Hassan Yassin in the 16th minutes as Al-Ittihad left winger Adel Badr equalized in the 87th minutes.

The result pushed El-Entag el-Harby to relegation from the Egyptian Premier League. Al-Ittihad stayed at 6th place with 44 points from 32 matches.

Now, Aswan and El-Entag el-Harby have suffered relegation from the Egyptian Premier League.

At Petrosport Stadium in Cairo, NBE held to a 1-1 draw against Ghazl el-Mahalla.

NBE’s goal came from attacking midfielder Hassan Yassin in the 16th minutes as El-Mahalla attacking midfielder Khaled el-Akhmimi equalized in the 89th minutes.

The draw kept NBE in 15th place with 33 points from 32 matches as Ghazl el-Mahalla remained at 13th place with 35 points from 32 matches.
