CAIRO — Egypt delivered an impressive performance at the Arab Badminton Championship in the New Administrative Capital, closing the tournament with a haul of six medals that underscored the nation’s growing presence on the regional badminton stage.

The Pharaohs secured one silver and five bronze medals across various competitions, reflecting depth, resilience, and rising technical quality among Egyptian players.

Nour Yousry led the charge with a silver medal in the women’s singles event, finishing runner-up after a hard-fought final against Saudi Arabia’s Khadija Kawthar.

Meanwhile, Fatima Mohamed and Malaika Hassan each claimed bronze in the same category, adding to Egypt’s strong showing in women’s singles.

The championship, held from January 20 to 22 in the New Administrative Capital, showcased the very best of Arab handball, uniting 10 nations in a fierce display of skill and determination.

Competitors from the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Lebanon, Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain, Algeria, and host nation Egypt clashed in an electrifying contest, as the New Administrative Capital became the epicenter of regional sporting excellence.

The men’s doubles events also saw Egyptian success, as the pairs of Ahmed El-Bahnasawy and Karim Ezzat, and Ali Ashraf and Mohamed Mostafa, clinched bronze medals following competitive and hard-fought campaigns.

Egypt’s momentum continued in the mixed doubles, where Jana Ashraf and Mahmoud Hassan secured bronze to cap off the national team’s medal haul.

Egypt’s success at the Arab Badminton Championship came alongside another remarkable triumph, as the third edition of the Egypt International Paralympic Badminton Championship concluded recently.

Egyptian Paralympic athletes showcased exceptional skill and determination, bringing home six medals—two silver and four bronze—underscoring the nation’s steady rise in both mainstream and Paralympic badminton.

These achievements reflect a clear upward trajectory for Egyptian badminton, signaling that the nation is steadily building a strong foundation for future success at both Arab and international levels.
