CAIRO — The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) received the Japan U-17 national team during its training camp in Cairo.
EFA Secretary General Mostafa Azzam welcomed the delegation at the national teams’ center in the 6th of October City.
Meanwhile, members of the Japanese delegation expressed appreciation for the organisation and support during the camp.
The visit comes as both teams prepare for upcoming continental tournaments. Japan chose Egypt for the camp due to the quality of facilities and the opportunity to play competitive matches.
Japan’s U-17 team will face Egypt’s 2009-born squad in a friendly match on April 29 as part of the preparations.
Japan is preparing for the 2026 AFC U-17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, while Egypt is preparing for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
