By Mohamed Attia

The National Air Navigation Services Company (NANSC) received Mohamed Samawi, Deputy Regional Director of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) office in Cairo, along with an accompanying delegation of regional representatives, to review the developments in Egypt’s air navigation system.

The delegation was welcomed by Captain Ihab Mohieldin Azmy, Chairman of the company, along with a number of technical and operational leaders.

The visit comes within the framework of the strong strategic partnership with ICAO and its key role in supporting the development of the air navigation sector at both regional and international levels.

During the visit, Samawi praised the success of the meetings held under the auspices of ICAO’s regional office with the company’s specialists, during which key achievements were reviewed. He also commended the advanced steps taken by the company in developing Egypt’s air navigation system,  particularly in light of the high implementation rates of the Airspace Block Upgrade (ASBU) packages. He also noted the company’s active role in supporting and implementing Egypt’s National Air Navigation Plan (NANP) within its scope of responsibility.

For his part, Captain Ihab Mohieldin Azmi emphasised that these achievements reflect the state’s commitment to strengthening its role in the global aviation industry, in line with the vision of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and under the direct supervision of Minister Samah el-Hefny and Eng. Ayman Arab, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation. The aim is to establish a modern operational system that reinforces Egypt’s position as a safe and reliable air corridor.

Azmi pointed out that national personnel represent a key pillar of this success, thanks to their high level of competence and their ability to handle crises and exceptional situations effectively, through the integrated performance of various specialties.
