EgyptAir has officially launched its inaugural flight to Venice, Italy, marking the latest addition to the airline’s growing European network.

The new route, operated by the advanced Airbus A320neo aircraft, is part of a broader international expansion strategy that recently included new flights to major American cities like Los Angeles and Chicago.

To mark the special occasion, a celebration was held for passengers on the maiden flight at Cairo International Airport’s Terminal 3.

Senior airline executives, including Pilot Mohamed Alian and Sohair Abdullah, joined the event, where travellers were greeted with flowers, chocolates, and a festive “Wheel of Fortune” game featuring prizes such as free tickets and flight discounts.

Upon arrival at Venice International Airport, the direct flight was warmly welcomed by local airport officials who ensured smooth and efficient arrival procedures for all passengers.

Pilot Ahmed Adel, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company, emphasised that the Cairo-Venice route is a strategic step forward in strengthening the airline’s presence in European markets.

He noted that Venice adds a vital cultural, tourist, and economic destination to EgyptAir’s network, giving travellers more options while boosting tourism and trade between Egypt and Italy. He added that the airline will continue to open new routes and increase flight frequencies to meet growing global demand.
