Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny met with UK Ambassador to Egypt Mark Bryson-Richardson and his accompanying delegation at the ministry headquarters to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral co-operation in civil aviation and exploring promising opportunities to advance air transport competitiveness.

The talks focused on expanding collaboration in investment, technical and technological partnerships, strengthening air connectivity, and co-operation in training, simulation, and human resource development through British expertise.

El-Hefny emphasised the growing momentum in Egyptian-British relations, welcoming broader partnerships with leading UK institutions and companies to boost technical and operational capacities, adopt advanced technologies, and support Egypt’s efforts to build a modern, sustainable civil aviation system aligned with international standards.

He highlighted the ministry’s priority in developing training, capacity building, and knowledge exchange, while attracting specialised investments and leveraging advanced technology to improve efficiency and services, reinforcing Egypt’s position as a regional hub for air transport.

Ambassador Richardson expressed the UK’s pride in its longstanding partnership with Egypt and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continued co-operation in civil aviation to support travel, economic, and tourism exchanges between the two nations.

He also voiced anticipation for Egypt’s active participation in the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2026 and confirmed UK support for Egypt’s involvement in the Alamein International Air and Space Show scheduled for September 2026, describing it as a global platform for expertise exchange and partnership expansion in the aviation industry.
