Egypt, Sudan mull enhanced co-operation in air transport

Minister of Civil Aviation Pilot Mohamed Manar held a meeting with Sudanese Minister of Transport Dr. Hisham Abu Zaid to discuss ways to enhance aspects of joint co-operation between Egypt and Sudan in the field of civil aviation.

Minister Manar expressed his happiness with the fruitful and effective meeting, stressing the Egyptian government’s keenness to deepen co-operation in various fields of air transport with Sudan.

The two sides also discussed mechanisms of joint co-operation, especially in the fields of maintenance, training and airport infrastructure, in addition to navigation and air cargo systems, which contributes to increasing the volume of trade exchange through co-operation between EgyptAir and Sudanese Airlines.

For his part, the Sudanese minister expressed his happiness with this meeting, praising Egypt’s position in the air transport industry and its important role in the development of the civil aviation sector within the African continent.

He also expressed his appreciation for the effort and support provided by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to Sudan in the field of air transport, looking forward to further coordination with the Ministry of Civil Aviation in implementing a number of important projects in the field of air transport.
