Minister of Civil Aviation Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas met yesterday Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Burkina Faso, Anuyertoul Roland. During the meeting, the two sides discussed means to boost co-operation in various air transport activities.

Minister Abbas reviewed prospects for the transfer of Egyptian expertise to the Burkinabe side, especially in the field of training, maintenance, and air navigation systems.

The two sides also discussed signing a memorandum of understanding in preparation for operating a direct airline between Egypt and Burkina Faso during the coming period. They also updated bilateral agreement for air transport between the two countries.

Abbas affirmed his ministry’s keenness to strengthen bonds of co-operation and partnership with all African countries in various civil aviation sectors. They also discussed means to boost prospects for fruitful work with senior civil aviation officials in Burkina Faso.

Minister Abbas pointed out that several tours were scheduled for the Burkinabe side during their visit to the civil aviation sector to see services provided by the Egyptian Aviation Academy, the National Air Navigation Services Company, the EgyptAir Training Academy and Air Cairo, one of the companies affiliated with the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

For his part, the Burkinabe minister appreciated Egypt’s influential and active role in supporting all development issues within the African continent.

Roland stressed the importance of joint work to elevate relations between Egypt and Burkina Faso in light of the development boom the Egyptian state is witnessing in various fields, especially in civil aviation.
