Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny recently met Adyan Angelov Katarchev, the Bulgarian Ambassador to Egypt, along with his delegation.
The meeting highlights Egypt’s ongoing dedication to building stronger global partnerships and fostering closer co-operation across various aviation sectors.
During the discussions, the two sides reviewed the latest progress on a draft air transport agreement between Egypt and Bulgaria. Both nations are working to update their bilateral aviation framework to keep pace with rapid developments in the global aviation industry.

This updated agreement is expected to increase flight operations, make travel smoother for passengers, and support the mutual economic interests of both countries.
El-Hefny praised the deep, historical relationship between Egypt and Bulgaria, emphasising how their ties continue to grow, particularly in civil aviation.
He also expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Katarchev for his dedication and efforts during his diplomatic tenure in Cairo, noting that his work has established a strong foundation for future collaboration.
The Bulgarian Ambassador commended the notable progress and modernisation taking place within Egypt’s civil aviation sector.
He affirmed Bulgaria’s commitment to ongoing coordination with Egypt, aiming to capture new opportunities that will deliver positive results and mutual benefits for both nations.
