Alamein International Airport received the first direct flight operated by Nesma Airlines from the Russian capital, Moscow, carrying the first group of Russian tourists.
CEO of Nesma Airlines, Karim Baqi, expressed his satisfaction with the successful launch of the inaugural flight, noting that the Moscow–Alamein route represents an important addition to the destinations offered by the airline.
He said the Russian market is one of the key sources of tourism to Egypt, and directing part of these tourist flows to the Mediterranean Riviera offers more variety in Egypt’s tourism product and opens new opportunities for Russian tourist groups beyond the traditional destinations.
He added that the arrival of the tourist groups at the beginning of September reflects Alamein’s readiness to welcome tourists and provide a complete leisure experience. This also supports the economic returns of national projects and strengthens the position of Egypt’s northwest coast on the international tourism map as a destination that can attract visitors beyond the summer season.
The launch comes as Nesma Airlines undergoes a strategic transformation, including the introduction of its new commercial identity, flyplus, which reflects the company’s plans to offer a more modern and flexible travel experience, in line with the development taking place in Egypt’s smart cities and the expectations of passengers seeking comfort and quality.
