Taxi driver charged with kidnapping Weinberger baby

August 27, 1956 – Angelo LaMarca, a 31-year-old taxi driver, was taken into police custody in Mineola, Long Island, charged with the abduction of one-month-old Peter Weinberger. According to authorities, LaMarca confessed to kidnapping the infant on July 3 and abandoning the child alive in a Long Island woodland the following day.
