Israel is to press the United States to guarantee pending arms deliveries before resuming peace negotiations with Egypt, according to The Egyptian Gazette in 1975. The request, which includes F-15 fighters and Lance missiles, follows a delay in supplies linked to Washington’s reassessment of its Middle East policy.
While Ambassador Simcha Dinitz is set to present the proposal in Washington, some Israeli officials have played down the reports, claiming the military can achieve its objectives even without immediate new shipments.
