French nuclear test warning comes into effect

Paris, July 10, 1973 – A French warning for international shipping and aircraft to avoid its nuclear test danger zone in the South Pacific officially came into force at 12:01 GMT today.
As the nuclear war of nerves intensifies, French naval forces have increased surveillance of “anti-bomb” protest vessels operating within and around the forbidden area.
