The Egyptian Armed Forces held a formal reception to honour the newly appointed Vice-President, Hosni Mubarak, according to the Egyptian Gazette in 1975. The event was attended by senior government officials, including the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the People’s Assembly.
General Mohamed el-Gamasy, Minister of War, praised the Vice-President as a model of leadership and courage during the October War. On behalf of the military, General el-Gamasy presented a commemorative shield to Mr Mubarak, pledging the forces’ loyalty and acknowledging his distinguished service to the nation.
