Egypt’s Moustafa Mohamed seeks exit from FC Nantes
Egyptian footballer Moustafa Mohamed is reportedly looking to leave French club FC Nantes. According to French media, Mohamed has expressed a desire to start a new chapter in his career, leading Nantes to seek potential offers for the striker. Mohamed’s absence from the club’s pre-season preparations has fueled speculation about his imminent departure. Five charged in connection with Matthew Perry’s death
Five individuals, including Matthew Perry’s personal assistant and two doctors, have been charged in connection with the “Friends” star’s death. Prosecutors allege that the doctors exploited Perry’s history of addiction to supply him with dangerous amounts of ketamine, a powerful anesthetic. Perry died in October from a ketamine overdose, with his assistant administering the fatal dose. The charges have drawn attention to the growing use of ketamine as an off-label treatment for depression and anxiety, despite the risks associated with the drug.
WHO declares Mpox outbreak a global health emergency
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the mpox outbreak in parts of Africa a public health emergency of international concern. The virus, previously known as monkeypox, has claimed at least 450 lives in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and is spreading to other countries in the region, including Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya. Mpox, which is related to smallpox, is usually less severe but highly contagious. The WHO’s declaration highlights the urgent need for global action to contain the outbreak.
