Commander-In-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Minister of Defence and Military Production Mohamed Zaki witnessed on Wednesday celebrations held to honour male and female players of sports military institutions participating in different world and international championships in the 2022/2023 sports season and excellent players of the league of the Armed Forces.
During the celebrations, champions of the mission of the Egyptian Sports Federation for Mental Disabilities, who took part in Virtus Global Games Vichy 2023 were honoured as well.
According to a statement, the celebration began with a documentary film prepared by the Department of Morale Affairs of the Armed Forces Sports Authority, highlighting the achievements of its heroes over the generations and their contribution to upgrading the sports system.
The celebrations were attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Osama Askar as well as a number of Armed Forces top brass and heads of sports unions, critics and media personnel.
Head of the Armed Forces Sports Authority Hossam Khader delivered a speech in which he thanked the General Command of the Armed Forces for its constant efforts to upgrade the sports system in the state and prepare top-notch sports champions.
Minister Zaki conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the athletes and the technical and administrative bodies, praising their global, African and Arab sporting achievements that demonstrated the ability of Egyptians to overcome difficulties and realise achievements.
