RABAT – Office Director of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in North Africa Zuzana Brixiova said that Egypt was among few countries that resumed its economic growth despite the spread of coronavirus.
In statements to MENA in Rabat, she added that Egypt has adopted many measures that led to the success in achieving economic progress including the precautionary measures adopted by the Egyptian government along with the economic reform program.
Egypt is a model to be followed in this regard, she said, adding that the coronavirus pandemic had adverse economic and social impact on many world countries.
North Africa region has been less affected by the virus compared to other regions in the world, she pointed out.
Egypt, along with Morocco, has achieved much progress in the field of renewable energy, she noted, adding that the two countries have set up major solar power stations.
