SHARM EL SHEIKH – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed Monday the need for peace, dialogue and bringing the Russian-Ukrainian war to an end to realize world security and stability.
In his word before the inaugural session of the United Nation Climate Change Conference (UNCCC) COP27, at the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh, the UAE president extended thanks to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, voicing deep appreciation of the warm welcome from Egypt, the current host of the conference.
In his word, Sheikh Mohamed said; “We meet today at a very critical moment to our planet, for our world is facing daunting challenges, topped by climate change, that highly threatens world security and stability.”
“Since we all share same planet, so we should direct our efforts toward addressing such challenge through climate action; being an ample chance for inventing, as well as working out solutions and diversifying economies, ” he said.
Meantime, Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions, with their adverse climate change impact, highlighting late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s directives on this score, pertaining to ending gas combustion, together with establishing sustainability pillars in the UAE to contribute to preserving the environment and the nature resources in the country.
