The UAE Ambassador to Egypt, Ahmed al-Zaabi, on Tuesday highlighted the depth of fraternal and historical relations between Egypt and the UAE, stressing the importance of cultural and educational cooperation in advancing human development, stability, and progress.
His remarks came during the closing ceremony of the 10th edition of the “Arab Reading Challenge” hosted by Al-Azhar. The Emirati ambassador praised Al-Azhar as a beacon of knowledge, learning, and moderation, noting its pivotal role in promoting a culture of reading, raising awareness, and preparing generations capable of creativity and innovation.
Mr al-Zaabi said the UAE continues to support cultural and knowledge-based initiatives aimed at empowering Arab youth. This is led by the Arab Reading Challenge, which has become one of the region’s most prominent initiatives for promoting reading, discovering talent, and nurturing generations that value knowledge and learning.
He added that UAE-Egypt relations stand as a leading model of Arab cooperation based on mutual respect and shared visions for development and nation-building, stressing that investing in minds and spreading knowledge remain key pillars for a more prosperous future for coming generations.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the ambassador congratulated the winner of the 10th edition of the Arab Reading Challenge at the Al-Azhar level, along with all participating students, praising their exemplary performance and their representation of Arab youth committed to knowledge and learning.
He also voiced his appreciation for Al-Azhar and the organizers of the initiative for their efforts in promoting reading and cultural awareness across the Arab world.
