CAIRO – Transport Minister Kamel el-Wazir witnessed the inking of a contract between Damietta Alliance Container Terminals JSC and Modern Engineering Pioneers Company to implement the superstructure actions of containers terminal project Tahya Masr 1 in Damietta Port whose infrastructure was finished.

During the inking, Wazir asserted the importance of immediate start of the superstructure actions of the station and intensifying the work to inaugurate the station on the due date especially that it is important for increasing the capacity of containers in Damietta Port by 3.5 million containers.

The project comes within the implementation limit of the ministry for the integrated logistic passage (Tanta/Mansoura/Damietta) which contribute to making Damietta Port a global center for transit trading, Wazir added.

All efforts fall as part of the State’s plan to transfer Egypt into a regional center for transport, logistics and transit trading at the directives of the president, he said.
