CAIRO – Egypt has secured an elevated position in gymnastics at the level of Africa, says its Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy.
Congratulating Egypt’s national gymnastics team on winning the 2024 African Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Sobhy Sunday praised the performance of the players, their high spirits and strong will.
This is the outcome of hard work, correct planning and full coordination among the Ministry of Sports, the Egyptian Gymnastics Federation and the Egyptian Olympic Committee, said a proud Sobhy.
It is such a great achievement to be added to Egypt’s sports accomplishments, the minister said.
Winning the African Artistic Gymnastics Championships, taking place in Marrakesh on May 3-6, is an important step toward qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Sobhy noted.
