Sisi’s meeting with US security advisor, Suez Canal traffic record, new 4.4m Covid shipment have made Wednesday press headlines.

 

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underlined on Wednesday Egypt’s keenness on enhancing strategic partnership with the US, especially in the fields of security and military. Sisi remarks came during his meeting with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

 

PM Moustafa Madbouli asserted the necessity of accelerating the vaccination of all employees working in the education sector as well as the university students against the coronavirus while keeping all precautionary measures in place.

 

Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet said on Wednesday the mandatory implementation of the Advanced Cargo Information (ACI) system will start on October 1.

 

Minister of Health and Population Dr Hala Zayed announced on Wednesday that Egypt received 4,424,400 Covid-19 vaccines from China’s Sinopharm Group as part of the state’s efforts to provide jabs against the pandemic.

 

Navigation in the international waterway Wednesday registered its highest daily traffic record in its history with 87 vessels sailing in both directions, without waiting, carrying a cargo net weight of 4.8 million tonnes.

 

Egypt’s health sector allocations have increased by LE17.1 billion in the current FY2021/22 to reach LE275.6 billion.

 

Egypt allows a total of 74 countries to obtain tourist visas electronically upon arrival at any of Egypt’s ports within 24 hours of registering for them, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said in a statement.

 

Trade and Industry Ministry signed on Wednesday a MoU with the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) to establish a representation office for the chamber in Cairo.

 

The Cabinet approved during its weekly meeting Wednesday a draft law reorganizing the issuance of licenses for establishing hotels and tourist facilities.

 

The Cabinet has also approved extending the exemption of foreign airlines from paying airport service fees until April 30, 2022 for all world countries.
