Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has expressed his full support to Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and to his efforts to render the work of his government a success in a way responding to the aspirations of the Lebanese people and helping introduce reforms necessary for crossing this crucial stage of Lebanon’s history.
The president’s remarks to this effect came during a meeting Monday with Mikati on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Sharm El Sheikh.
Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said the president welcomed Mikati and praised Egyptian-Lebanese relations.
For his part, Mikati paid tribute to the distinguished relations between the two countries and voiced appreciation of Egypt’s support for maintaining the stability of Lebanon and the region.
He hailed Egypt’s experience in the field of development which he described as model to follow in the region.
According to the spokesman, the meeting dealt with means to promote relations between the two countries and benefitting from Egypt’s expertise in many fields such as electricity, energy and infrastructure.
