PARIS – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi thanked French President Emmanuel Macron for his constant support for Egypt and his success in organizing the New Global Financing Pact Summit.

In his word during the concluding session of the summit, held in the French capital Friday, President Sisi said that 100 billion dollars were allocated by developed countries at the climate summit in 2015 as an annual contribution to promote climate action.

“It was a very good matter,” the president said, adding there is a very big difference between the plan and its implementation.

When we are implementing the plan, we find the results more or less, he further explained.

President Sisi added that when he was the chair of the African Union for two years, he attended many conferences and went with African leaders to Japan, China, India, Russia and England and that he went to India and many developed countries for economic cooperation with the African continent.

What was achieved during the past years is not sufficient for supporting African countries to face climate change, President Sisi said.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Egypt launched at COP27 the NWFE program, a nexus of water, food and energy, which is a mechanism to promote the implementation of green development projects in the vital sectors of water, food and energy by attracting foreign funds in this regard.
Speaking at the final session of the New Global Financing Pact Summit, held in the French capital Paris, President Sisi thanked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for supporting Egypt as the country was implementing an action program of the largest high-speed electric train project.
The move is part of efforts to achieve sustainable development and promote climate action through the use of modern transport systems away from pollution and its bad impacts, added President Sisi.
The president asserted that partnership and cooperation constitute a link between developed and developing countries that seek to make further progress and growth.
The danger and challenge are clear to all, he said, pointing out to Covid-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and the measures which were taken to face them.
President Sisi forwarded a message to leaders who are participating in the New Global Financing Pact Summit that the entrepreneurship is responsibility and that rich and developed countries, which possess the technology and knowledge should shoulder the responsibility toward others, which do not possess this technology.
“This is a moral responsibility and it may be political,” the president said in his address to the final session of the international summit, held in the French capital Paris.
President Sisi criticized pledges made by some leaders in developing countries to peoples during elections amid current challenges worldwide.
He underscored the necessity of boosting work to attain all aspirations of peoples in developing states, including Egypt.
The president stressed the need of pumping 100 billion dollars of funds allocated by developed countries to the African continent at present in order to contribute to developing the infrastructure in Africa.
As many as 27,000 persons from some African countries lost their life because of illegal emigration in the span of the past years, the president said.
“Egypt has nearly nine million guests from other countries.”
In conclusion, President Sisi commended efforts, contributions and steps that are taken by France under the leadership of Emmanuel Macron to achieve development in developing countries.
